The Founders

Hive & Harmony is the shared creation of Bettina and Kenneth, born from a simple desire to live and work in greater harmony with nature and the world around us.

Bettina arrived in Australia from Germany 2007. Not long after she started a cleaning business, and through determination and hard work built it into a very successful company. Along the way she raised two beautiful daughters, Maya and Elena, now 15 and 13.

While the business flourished, it was created from circumstance rather than a deeper calling.

Kenneth’s path was not so different. In his early twenties he began screen printing t-shirts in his garage to earn a little extra pocket money. What started as a small side project steadily grew into a successful custom merchandise business in Sydney. During those years he also raised two wonderful children, Jezabel and Damon.

Like Bettina, Kenneth had built something successful, but it had never been part of a grand plan.

The Genesis

Over time, we found ourselves searching for something new. Not just another business, but something that truly aligned with our values and the kind of business that had more meaning.

That search led us to the quiet magic of Beeswax.

Discovering beeswax and the ancient craft of candle making was transformative. There was something deeply grounding in the process. The soft scent of honey. The golden glow of a natural flame. The meditative rhythm of shaping each candle by hand and the feeling of being so present.

We quickly fell in love with it.

Hive & Harmony grew from that moment of discovery. What began as curiosity soon became a labour of love. Inspired by the miracle of the hive and the extraordinary gift of beeswax, often appropriately referred to liquid gold, we began building a business guided by a simple belief that the things we bring into our homes should work in harmony with nature and with the people who make them.

Beeswax candles offer more than natural light. Their warm golden glow brings a sense of calm, grounding and natural luxury into a space. They create an atmosphere that feels peaceful, comforting and alive, a gentle reminder of nature’s quiet beauty.

Why Beeswax?

For thousands of years, beeswax candles have been treasured as the finest candles in the world.
